Forest honey comes in two types: varietal forest honeys, which are dominated by the nectar or honeydew of specific conifers—such as spruce or fir, hence the names "spruce honey" or "fir honey"—and mixed forest honey, which is a blend of honeydew from both coniferous and deciduous trees, along with nectar from flowers in hilly regions.
Forest honeys range in color from light to dark brown, are thicker in consistency, and have a stronger aroma compared to flower honey.
They are rich in minerals and are therefore recommended for treating anemia. A mixture of fresh fruit juice and forest honey is particularly beneficial for anemic pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, people with throat inflammation, and anyone whose body is depleted due to strenuous work or illness. Spruce and fir honey are also recommended for respiratory issues.
Available in 120g, 250g, 450g, and 900g packaging.
